Video Editor (YouTube) – Per-Project Freelance

We’re looking for a talented YouTube Video Editor who can turn raw, unscripted multi-cam footage into high-energy, high-retention vlogs and challenge content! You understand how to build a compelling story from scratch, nail sharp comedic timing, and keep viewers hooked with great pacing, sound design, and native internet humor. This is more than editing—it’s about crafting entertaining, fast-paced YouTube videos that thrive on the platform.

The ideal candidate is fast, reliable, and works independently. You can take 2–5 hours of raw multi-cam footage and deliver a polished 13–25 minute final cut with minimal supervision.

Who You Are

• A creative storyteller who masters fast-paced editing, comedic timing, and sustained audience engagement.
• Fluent in English with a strong grasp of US cultural nuances, internet slang, meme culture, and comedic pacing.
• Proficient in cutting raw multi-cam footage from scratch (syncing, sorting, and editing loose footage independently without needing an assistant editor).
• Highly proficient in audio editing - skilled at mixing multi-track audio (lavs, shotguns, ambient), cleaning up raw noise, and using dynamic sound design and music to drive comedic beats.
• Reliable and quick, capable of turning around a solid V1 cut in 5 business days.
• Looking strictly for per-project freelance work (this is an independent contractor role, not a full-time position).

What You’ll Do

• Edit 13–25 minute unscripted live-action / IRL vlog and challenge videos from ~5 hours of raw multi-cam footage (GoPros, handhelds, iPhones, multiple audio tracks).
• Build cohesive storylines, sync multi-cam assets, and apply dynamic music, sound design, and clean titles/graphics.
• Clean, level, and mix multi-source unscripted audio while building a punchy soundscape (SFX, music cues) that enhances storytelling and audience retention.
• Turn around initial cuts within 5 business days, and quickly address notes/revisions within 2–3 business days.
• Adhere strictly to project creative guidelines, including a zero-generative AI policy.

Preferred Skills

• 2+ years of experience editing high-energy, high-retention US English YouTube content (specifically vlogs, challenges, or gaming).
• Mastery of Adobe Premiere Pro or equivalent professional editing software with strong multi-cam workflows.
• Strong sound design, audio leveling, and music pacing skills.
• Deep understanding of YouTube retention strategies and visual storytelling.
• High-level English fluency (must be able to independently digest unscripted audio, spot funny/memorable moments, and follow fast-paced banter without assistance).

Pay and Terms

• Project Rate: $850 – $1,200 USD per video (scaled based on turnaround speed and cut quality).
• Hiring Process: Initial interview -> paid test edit (upon approval).
• Engagement: Strictly per-project freelance contract (remote).

• This is a per-project freelance role. Our preferred editing suite is Adobe Creative Cloud (Adobe Premiere Pro). Are you open to this arrangement?
• We have a strict no-generative-AI policy. Do you agree to use zero generative AI elements in your editing process for these projects?
