Job Title: Operations & Master Data Specialist

Contractor Fee: $3,500 - $3,700/month (USD)

Work Arrangement: Remote

Engagement Type: Independent Contractor

Commitment: Full-time (Approx. 40 hours/week)

Company Overview:

Tidal is a Direct Placement Agency that helps job seekers find job opportunities for real growth. We work with stable, responsible businesses that are experienced in remote hiring and are excited to welcome international team members. Tidal is owned and operated by consumer brand owners and operators. We have experience in offshore team-building and aim to help businesses leverage global talent.

About This Role:
We are hiring an Operations & Master Data Specialist to help organize and improve product and operational data for a growing eCommerce brand. You will lead the setup of a new PIM/DAM system, fix messy data, and build clear, simple processes across different tools. Beyond PIM/DAM, you will also support the development of a broader master data structure across the business to help build a more scalable, enterprise-level approach. This is a hands-on role where you are expected to work independently, solve problems, and improve how things are currently done.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the implementation of the Catsy PIM/DAM system from setup through adoption

  • Define and manage product data structures, including taxonomy, metadata, and standards

  • Establish and maintain data governance frameworks (accuracy, consistency, quality, and workflows)

  • Build and document scalable processes across systems, data, and operations

  • Manage integrations across platforms, including PIM/DAM, NetSuite, SPS Commerce, and Shopify

  • Own and maintain a single source of truth for product and operational data

  • Support the development and management of enterprise-level master data structures beyond PIM/DAM

  • Help define how data is structured, governed, and used across systems as the business scales

  • Identify inefficiencies and implement automation to reduce manual work

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into system solutions

  • Support discussions related to order management, data flow, and system architecture

  • Train internal stakeholders and drive adoption of new tools and processes

  • Troubleshoot data issues and continuously improve workflows and data integrity

Software/Platforms/Tools:

  • Catsy or similar PIM/DAM platforms

  • NetSuite or similar ERP systems

  • SPS Commerce (EDI) or similar middleware

  • Shopify or similar eCommerce platforms

  • API-based integrations (working knowledge)

  • Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Drive)

  • Slack, Zoom

  • Project management tools (ClickUp, Asana, or similar)

  • Google Sheets or Excel

Qualifications:

  • 4 to 7+ years of freelancing or remote work experience

  • 3 to 6+ years of experience in Master Data, Data Operations, PIM/DAM, or similar roles

  • Strong understanding of data structures, data governance, and system integrations

  • Experience working with ERP systems (NetSuite preferred but not required)

  • Ability to work independently in unstructured environments with minimal documentation

  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to challenge and improve processes

  • Excellent written and verbal English communication (C1–C2 level)

  • Highly organized with strong time management and prioritization skills

  • Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution

Nice to have:

  • Experience implementing PIM/DAM systems from scratch

  • Experience in eCommerce, retail, or consumer goods industries

  • Familiarity with order management systems and system-of-record frameworks

  • Experience supporting change management and system adoption

  • Exposure to automation tools or workflow optimization

Shift Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday, with required overlap with US PST hours. Schedule is flexible, but must support collaboration with US-based stakeholders.
