Position Overview
As a Legal Administrative Assistant in different departments including assisting FOIA cases , you will be responsible for preparing, submitting, tracking, and organizing responses for FOIA requests to various U.S. government agencies, as well as support across different legal departments as the need arises. Your work will play a critical role in supporting our legal team with accurate and timely background data essential for immigration petitions, motions, and applications.
Core Responsibilities

  • Prepare and submit FOIA requests to federal immigration agencies including:
  • USCIS (Form G-639)
  • CBP
  • ICE
  • OBIM
  • EOIR
  • FBI (DOJ FOIA portal)
  • Department of State (DOS)
  • Track status updates, manage timelines, and monitor agency response deadlines.
  • Log and organize incoming FOIA results and maintain digital records for each client.
  • Communicate with agency FOIA units and escalate delayed requests where applicable.
  • Assist with compiling cover letters, exhibits, and indexes related to USCIS packets and FOIA packets.
  • Provide support in compiling cover letters, exhibits, and indexes for USCIS filings, including Adjustment of Status (AOS) and humanitarian-based applications such as U Visa, T Visa, and VAWA.
  • Assist in preparing FOIA request packets and contribute to casework across multiple departments, with a focus on the Humanitarian Department and other USCIS-related matters.

Work with legal staff to flag missing documents or inconsistencies in records.
Ensure compliance with agency-specific FOIA submission protocols and redaction standards.
Requirements

  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
  • Clear and professional written communication.
  • Technological proficiency with G-Suite, PDF editing tools, and task-tracking software.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and manage sensitive client data.
  • Technical & Security Requirement
  • Reliable electricity and high-speed internet connection.
  • Laptop/desktop with updated operating system and functional webcam.
  • Anti-virus/malware protection installed.
  • Quiet, secure, and distraction-free remote work setup
  • Communicate with clients via phone, email, and messaging platforms
  • Assist with document collection and organization
  • Support legal assistants and paralegals in case preparation
  • Perform data entry and maintain case files
  • Handle client follow-ups and inquiries

Work monitoring software must be installed within a designated work profile to protect client data and monitor screen activity during business hours only.
Position DetailsJob Type: Full-Time
Salary: $7 USD per hour
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM Pacific Time

Pay: From $111,111,111.00 per month
