Position Overview:

We are seeking a Referral Coordinator wherein their primary responsibilities will be to provide scheduling, insurance verification, clerical and administrative duties in support of patients, medical providers, general office or assigned area. They are expected to be proactive, self-motivated and engaged in creating a positive work environment. They are going to be under direct supervision to perform a variety of basic and routine clerical and administrative duties to assist medical providers in the care and treatment of patients.

Primary function is to assist in the timely delivery of services to patients in a fast paced, high volume, medical clinic. Responsible for making scheduling patients that are referred for treatment and verifying insurance and claim status for patients.

Their Essential Function is to ensure required paperwork is completed and properly filed, obtain accurate demographic, insurance, and financial data, answer phones and schedule appointments, confirm appointments and notify patients of referral/authorization status, maintain multiple provider schedules including clinic and surgical, initiate prior-authorizations and process referrals. coordinate insurance authorizations, verify and document benefits, interact with patients, medical providers, stakeholders, and the community, maintain patient medical records, manage confidential PHI in accordance with all HIPAA privacy regulations and maintain a clean and organized work area.

Requirements

• High school or GED
• Customer Service experience
• 2 years relevant experience in a hospital, clinic or surgical center

Preferred

• Knowledge of medical terminology
• Experience with occupational medicine or workers compensation
• Bilingual in English and Spanish

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $5,452.00 per hour
