This role will focus on editing both long-form and short-form content for YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, and Facebook, helping us drive audience growth, brand authority, and customer acquisition.

Responsibilities:

As our Video Editor, your mission is to help grow Salazar Scoops’ content presence across all major platforms by transforming raw footage into polished, engaging content that retains viewers and converts attention into business growth.

• Edit and deliver multiple long-form YouTube videos each week (mix of direct-to-camera, vlog, and educational formats).
• Produce short-form content (YouTube Shorts, Instagram Reels, TikTok videos, Facebook Reels) from both raw and existing long-form footage.
• Contribute to pre-production planning by suggesting content hooks, visual elements, and packaging ideas for video projects.
• Conduct basic competitor analysis and monitor content trends to improve content style, editing structure, and engagement strategies.
• Optimize videos for retention, watch time, and engagement, aligning with our brand’s tone and goals.
• Organize and maintain project files, video assets, and templates for efficient workflow.
• Collaborate with leadership and content teams to ensure creative direction is clear and execution aligns with brand standards.
• Support daily progress reporting and maintain transparent communication about workloads and deadlines.
• Participate in channel improvement strategies, post-mortem reviews, and content analysis for ongoing growth.
• Monitor comments across video platforms to remove spam (as needed).

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of video editing experience (professional or freelance).
• Proficiency in Davinci Resolve required. CapCut, Final Cut Pro, Premiere Pro, or other professional editing software.
• Basic motion graphics skills or willingness to integrate simple branded graphics and animations.
• Portfolio showcasing both long-form YouTube videos and short-form content for social media (required).
• Strong sense of pacing, storytelling, and attention-grabbing editing techniques suitable for short attention spans.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a proactive, problem-solving attitude.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, content-driven environment.
• Eager to learn and adapt to new platforms, editing trends, and content strategies.
• Clear, professional communication skills in English.

• Deliver consistent, high-quality long-form and short-form video content that builds audience engagement across YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, and Facebook.
• Improve video retention, view counts, and watch time through strong pacing, visual interest, and brand consistency.
• Support the marketing team in building a content backlog that maintains a regular posting cadence.
• Contribute creatively to growing Salazar Scoops’ brand authority as the go-to pet waste removal experts online.
